About Young People

When is the right time to get help for my child/teenager?

This can vary depending on the individual child/young person.  As with adults, there are some young people who are open to getting support and others who may find it more difficult.  It can also depend on the circumstances and why the support may be needed.

Will I be able to be present during the session?

Please discuss this directly with your therapist.  Some therapists allow parents/carers to be present during the introduction.  For the therapy to be effective the therapist will need to build a relationship with the child/young person and this can not be done with someone else present.

Will you tell me what happens in the sessions?

Please discuss this directly with your therapist. We understand that you are concerned, but unless there is a safeguarding issue young people are also entitled to confidentiality during therapy.
