MBACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist

About Me

I am a qualified and accredited counsellor/psychotherapist and am registered with BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).   I have been working in the NHS as a counsellor in primary care for the past 9 years. I offer both individual counselling and couple counselling. I offer short-term therapy and long-term therapy. Choosing a counsellor and knowing where to start when you are wanting to talk to someone can be a difficult and stressful business. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is paramount to having a beneficial outcome, and I would advocate having a few assessments to meet different therapists to begin the process. I offer a one-off assessment at the first stage, for clients to talk through their presenting issues, and to see if the client is happy to work with me. I will always review the work as we go along, and I subscribe to the BACP code of ethics and Ethical Framework to keep both client and therapist safe.

My areas of expertise are; anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, relationship issues, self esteem and confidence issues and work related stress. In my experience the counselling process is a bit of an unknown journey, and I believe that all issues are linked in some way. For this reason, I don’t like to be too prescriptive with what I work with, but rather, to keep an open forum to explore whatever presents itself.

I provide a warm and non-judgemental environment in which to present your worries, and will do my best to work collaboratively with you to explore your issues and make your life more fulfilling and happier. If you are interested in contacting me please do not hesitate to ring or email me at any time.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I hold a diploma in Integrative Counselling, qualifying in 2004. I gained my Accreditation with BACP in 2009. I hold a certificate in Couple Counselling, and regularly attend workshops and training as part of my continual professional development. I began working for Oxleas NHS as a counsellor in 2010, and continue to work in this role.
